yep, i've done it...i'm entering the world of blogging. already i can see that i have little idea what i'm doing, but isn't that the way it is with most things? we decide to take a plunge, we try to calm ourselves, get as comfy as we can and buckle up, so that when we take a wild or wrong turn (which we will), we don't completely fall out of the car, and we ready ourselves for a ride full of winding turns, backtracking, hills and lots of things that go bump in the night.
christmas is over, and i find myself ready, more than ready, to say good-bye to 2009. not one of my best years! i am SO ready to replace my calendars. i love the cleanness of a new calendar not yet dirtied with events clamoring for my presence. it's like waking to a fresh blanket of snow. no, i don't like snow, but few can deny the beauty that is there...until it is dirtied with the signs of life.
as i make a list, more mental than written (for which i will kick myself later, when i can no longer remember), of the things i am saying good-bye to from 2009, as well as the things i will choose to introduce myself to in 2010, i am reminded of something. i am far more influenced by the people who believe in me, than of those i believe in.
as i ponder away 2009, and dream of 2010, those influences cannot escape me. my hope is that those influences will, in fact, help color and provide courage to areas where i want to unbuckle my seat belt because bailing here means i don't have to go through the fear of what is over that huge hill or around that winding turn. i haven't unbuckled yet...and don't intend on doing so now.
